Biography

Paul Hammersmith was originally trained as a watchmaker and engraver, but his true passion has always been art. He studied and practiced it whenever possible, drawing inspiration from both his surroundings in Milwaukee and his travels. His works reflect a blend of personal experience and a keen observation of place. All of Hammersmith’s etchings are created freehand—either drawn directly onto copper plates or developed from sketches made in nature.
