House of Dauphin St., 1933
14.5 × 17 ″ Framed: 22.25 × 24.75 × 1.25 ″ Sketch, pastel and watercolorA downtown street is shown with a few types of buildings placed on an angle in the composition. The buidling closest to the view to the far right is a white brick with blue shutters and a balcony. A man with a blue coat, white t-shirt, and brown pants is walking into the bottom level of the building. The building to the left of it in the middle of the composition is grey with a red roof and a red sign sticking out on the outside of the building. There is a light pole on the sidewalk in front. The building next to it is wooden and grey with two stories and a balcony. There is a man in the far left of the composition walking towards the sidewalk where a man is already standing. The far left of the composition is unfinished with outlines of people and another building. There is no definition of a sky above the building except smoke coming out of a chimney of the far left building. This piece is framed and double matted with the bottom being a red and the top a cream. The frame is brown and wooden and covered with glass.
