Sherman Groenke
Wind Point Light House and Signal Station, c. 1985
17 × 23 ″ Framed: 27 × 33 × 1.5 ″ WatercolorSnow covers the foreground until the low horizon in the lower third of the painting. Just before the horizon a fence is seen. A weather vane is to the left in the distance with a building to the left and a couple of trees in front. To the left and forward a little are two grey structures/houses that are parallel to each other facing to the left. On the same compositional level is a light house with a large structure to the right. Behind to the left lower than the horizon is seen a small structure. The grey sky takes up two thirds of the composition while the light house continues until the upper third of the composition. This piece has a triple mat: lower one is a grey color, middle white, and the top is a light grey. This is covered in glass and framed in a brown wooden frame. There is a gold metal plaque in the bottom middle: "A GIFT TO THE FUTURE / 'The Artwork of Ozaukee Bank' / Cedarburg Art Museum"
