Gemma Rose Brook paints from life as a direct emotional dialogue with the environment she is observing. She paints what she sees and what she feels informed by contemporary painting, personal experiences and research into different historical narratives within the land. This painting was respectfully made on Kangaroo Island/Karta Pintingga which is the end of songline for the Ngarrindjeri people. This work was made from a cliff top, as a storm front rolled in, on the West Coast of the island by the Cape du Couedic lighthouse and Admirals Arch.
