I didn't want to anticipate how this painting would start or finish, but it evolved into a blend of light, form, and texture—an accumulation of landscape impressions stored in my mind's databank. I enjoy the surprise when each painting settles into something intriguing. Layering lines repeatedly reveals glimpses of what lies beneath and hints at the unseen. This deliberate approach feels more genuine to me than using a single layer of paint, because the history is revealed.
