‘Landmarks 2’ balances subconscious mark-making with a contemplative response to painting in an open landscape. Working on the ground, the picture evolves intuitively, directed by the environment. Layers of marks are applied, left to settle, then washed away to reveal traces of the process. Painted on Gundungurra Country, NSW.
