When the sun was up at Umbi Gumbi, the studio windows framed the surrounding crowd of gums and magnified them, stretching into the sky.
When the sun went down, the windows were illuminated by lamps, creating a lonesome light source under the canopy. Massive emperor gum moths, seduced by the solitary glow, attached themselves to the glass and kept me company. I wondered if all the other artists who had been here before also had staring competitions with the moths. I wondered if Bega Power FM was the only radio station they could get, too.
