Portrait of a sitter holding a “restored” cast iron
Mammy/Jemima figure, in an antique frame that was
originally designed with a cresting eagle, which was
missing when I purchased it. In its absence, a 3D-printed
replica of a cast iron Mammy figure, “bronzed”, will be
mounted on top of the frame, recontextualizing the
mammies meaning.
