Kaitlyn Yang, aged 13, began drawing at 10. She has created many artworks but her drawing “My Soothing Den,” featuring a Fennec fox was Runner-up in the 2022 Young Australian Art Awards. She is mainly inspired by the environment and events based off the real world.

 

Artwork Statement:

This artwork, inspired by everyday suburban life, depicts a café to portray Australia, with the Australian bins and ibis serving as staples of the environment. Natural landscapes are not the only things you see, for if it weren’t balanced with the humanity bustling everywhere, it wouldn’t be Australia at all.
