I have always been drawn to the Australian outback, with its dry landscapes and native flora. I believe there is a complex relationship between humans and farm animals, and I painted these two cattle to capture their individuality and presence as living beings.

By naming them Daisy and Bert, I aimed to emphasise their distinct identities and personalities. Through this work, I hope to encourage the audience to look beyond seeing them simply as farm animals, and instead recognise them as sentient creatures, each with their own value and character.
