Painting bands of ferns growing above a shallow stream running across smooth river rocks, I’ve alternated between feeling elated, sick and devastated.

Work on this painting occurred before, during and after my first pregnancy, which sadly ended at two months. Somehow this landscape painting now feels more like a self-portrait.
