This painting is a little bit of a departure from my usual work process; I was interested in exploring each element in the scene individually rather than approach it as a whole. Working wet-on-wet, I used a variety of tools, in addition to brushes, to apply and remove paint whilst deliberately adjusting rhythm, gestures and pressure according to the way I imagined each part of the place would feel if I were walking through the scene.
