This work explores “shadows of the self”, intertwining personal experiences, art history and the landscape. Influenced by surrealism, medieval art, and expressionism, it depicts a dreamy landscape on a Tarago farm, where mysterious forms emerge, evoking a surreal atmosphere where the landscape becomes a backdrop for hybrid corporeal and spiritual forms that express my feelings as a woman. This work reflects my European lineage and fascination with religion as fantasy. Central to it is the grotto—a symbol of displaced identity, resonating with my immigrant experience and search for belonging.
