Painting from my studio on Gundungurra country, in south-eastern New South Wales, I aim to depict my deep and personal connection to the local river and waterways in my landscape renderings. Exploring themes of beauty and the sublime by constantly peering through the lens of Romanticism is central to my work. I am always seeking to expand on this concept and apply a new curiosity to that framework, looking specifically at the wetlands within my immediate environment – places that I know well and are a part of my daily practice but are in many ways unknown and at times unseen.
