‘From This Ground’ was painted with the memory of the land I grew up on; from the feeling of walking in the bush on a quiet winter morning. The earth pigments I used for the ground of the artwork were gathered years ago from that very place. This work connects landscapes both near and far, as places to protect, care for and be part of. My art practice explores the subtle but layered nature of the landscape and our connection to it, reflecting on and redefining our place within wilderness.
