I currently specialize in landscapes and urban landscapes, painting with an ink wash , to build a dense and textured scene. I typically use black or blue ink – I find this gives a pared back, simple view. Rather than trying to match the hues and tones of the bush, the ink provides an impression, revealing its beauty within one colour.
The Minnamura River has flooded many times in the last few years, each time creating new paths and tributaries, reshaping the course of the riverbank, bringing a mixture of destruction and new life.
