This painting carries its own sense of time and return. It emerged slowly, shaped by erasure and reworking—each mark earning its place. The distressed surface feels familiar, like a landscape already passed through. I trust the image more when it seems remembered rather than constructed. There’s a trace of self-image, though I’ve tried to obscure it. I want the work to exist within nature, not describe it.
