Wallaga Bridge, 2025
100 × 95 cm Acrylic on LinenNot Available
I am not a landscape painter but the source palette of this work summons the flat smoky light of Wallaga Lake in Yuin Country, NSW. Many times the bridge floods and is in-passable. The formal structure of my painting contains a similar fault line between immersive concave depth and hazy almost mirage like mirrored form. Landscape hinges on the concept of a view. Yet spatially the physical experience of a place is without periphery. I don't see water or land's end. I feel space.
