Running Dry – Newman explores the Australian landscape from above, transforming a vast Pilbara landscape into an abstract composition of colour, texture and movement. The winding patterns of dry waterways reveal traces of water that once travelled through the earth. Rich reds, ochres and muted greens reflect the raw beauty of Western Australia, while the absence of a horizon invites the viewer to reconsider their relationship with the land. The work explores the fleeting nature of water in an ancient landscape.
