My artwork shows the close-up of a rainbow gum tree in my school. I often stop to admire it because it reminds me of a family trip to WA a few years ago. The recurring patterns of earthy reds, browns and oranges resembles the layers of sandstone, rich red soil, and arial sceneries of the outback I witnessed during that trip. It amazes me that the same colours and patterns can be found across these vast landscapes and also on the bark of a simple school tree.
