Artwork Statement:

Cathedral Rocks is an acrylic landscape inspired by one of Wollongong’s most iconic coastal landmarks and a place closely connected to my childhood. The composition leads the viewer from the textured rocks of the foreground to the movement of ocean waves breaking against the powerful rock formations in the middle ground. In the distance, the distinctive Cathedral Rocks rise from the sea, their natural spire-like shapes resembling the silhouette of a cathedral against the sky. The enduring presence of Cathedral Rocks symbolises home, reminding me that although places may be left behind, they remain part of who we are.
