Recently I journeyed to Wadandi Boodja (Margaret River, WA) and was fortunate to be taken to a secret valley full of ancient Xanthorias. This was in the middle of cave country and walking through the valley, our footsteps echoed beneath us in a hidden cavern which had no entry. Above the cavern the valley teemed with life. The exuberance and energy was palpable and I wanted to explore this and the exultation that I felt in that very special landscape.
I used layers of acrylic paint and oil pastels to denote the layering of time and the layers of living things within this landscape.
