Bloom II is part of a body of painted wire mesh works which explore the interactions and layering of light, colour, and movement. In sculpting the mesh, the colours blend, transform and intensify to create a sense of a living organic form gently evolving, such as a flower coming into bloom. The work is simultaneously ephemeral and eternal as if capturing a moment in time and yet something that is part of a wider continuum in nature.
