This work reflects on the relationship between our domestic and natural worlds. I was thinking about our desire to be close to nature, in the colours and patterns we select, the texture of timber, and the art we surround ourselves with. In our homes, nature is curated, contained, and displaced. Here, a mob of kangaroos stands in a room, beside a picture of the forest that once belonged to them, their habitat transformed. The work sits in that quiet contradiction.
